Lanzarote
Kitesurf is one of the fastest-growing water sports in recent years. It shares maneuvers with wakeboard, surf, and windsurf, and consists of gliding across the water on a board propelled by a kite. It's an accessible sport for a large number of people as it doesn't require demanding skill or physical abilities. It's practiced worldwide in locations known as "spots" and can be enjoyed year-round. The best kite surf spots in the world are found in Macaronesia. This archipelago, located in the Atlantic Ocean near North Africa, comprises the Canary Islands, the Azores, Madeira, and Cape Verde. Derived from the Greek "islas afortunadas," this group is known for its volcanic origin, subtropical climate, and unique biodiversity, as well as good wind conditions year-round thanks to the trade winds, with up to an 80% chance of wind during the summer months (April–October) when the waves are gentler and the wind is consistent. Lanzarote is the closest of the eight Canary Islands to Africa, and thanks to this proximity, it benefits from favorable winds. We are just a four-hour flight from major European cities. Beaches like Caleta de Famara, located on the island's northwest coast, offer perfect conditions to learn kitesurf. Whether you want to try a new sport or you're already an advanced kitesurfer looking to improve your wave riding or learn new maneuvers, Famara is your spot. We are more than just your average kitesurfing school; we are kiters sharing our vision and experience in water sports with travelers who want to be like us.
